Investment Objective

Total return with an emphasis on providing current income.

Strategy

Under normal market conditions, the Fund invests at least 80% of its total net assets in income-paying publicly traded common stocks, preferred stocks, and other equity-related instruments of companies located in the Asia Pacific region. The Asia Pacific region includes Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.

Distributions

The Matthews Asia Dividend Fund intends to distribute its dividends quarterly. First Quarter 2010 dividend distributions will be paid on March 25, 2010 to shareholders of record as of March 24, 2010. First quarter distribution estimates are now available.
